چکیده
This paper focuses on methodological issues relevant to corrosion risk prediction models. A model was developed for the of rates associated with hot-dip galvanised reinforcement bar material in concrete exposed carbonation and chlorides outdoor environment. One-year follow-up experiments, over five years, were conducted at various depths chloride contents. The observed dependence rate depth content is complex indicating that interaction between influencing corrosion. non-linear proposed statistical analysis relationship test parameters. main contributions are (i) modeling approach able take into account uncertain measurement errors including unobserved systematic random heterogeneity different measured specimens correlation same specimen across measuring times, which best suits data; (ii) an parameter introduced especially contribution degree carbonation-chloride interaction. offers greater flexibility modelling data than traditional

P. Pokorný, D. Dobiáš, M. Vokáč – Czech Technical University – Klokner Institute, Prague, Czech Republic This paper evaluates the effect of initial corrosion damage to the surface of the hot dip galvanized steel coating in fresh concrete on its final bond strength. The tests were performed on uncoated and hot-dip galvanized ribbed reinforcements. The measurement of bond stress (τm) according to...
متن کاملHybrid Coatings Enriched with Tetraethoxysilane for Corrosion Mitigation of Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel in Chloride Contaminated Simulated Concrete Pore Solutions
Hybrid sol-gel coatings, named U(X):TEOS, based on ureasilicate matrices (U(X)) enriched with tetraethoxysilane (TEOS), were synthesized. The influence of TEOS addition was studied on both the structure of the hybrid sol-gel films as well as on the electrochemical properties. The effect of TEOS on the structure of the hybrid sol-gel films was investigated by solid state Nuclear Magnetic Resonan...
متن کاملPitting Corrosion Behaviour of New Corrosion-Resistant Reinforcement Bars in Chloride-Containing Concrete Pore Solution
In this study, the pitting behaviour of a new corrosion-resistant alloy steel (CR) is compared to that of low-carbon steel (LC) in a simulated concrete pore solution with a chloride concentration of 5 mol/L. The electrochemical behaviour of the bars was characterised using linear polarisation resistance (LPR) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The pitting profiles were detected b...
متن کاملCarbonation-induced Corrosion of Blended-cement Concrete Mix Designs for Highway Structures
Corrosion of concrete reinforcing steel in highway structures has traditionally been related to chloride ions. However, another cause of reinforcing steel corrosion is concrete carbonation which decreases the pH of the pore solution, Carbonation-induced corrosion tends to develop later and proceeds at slower rates than chloride-induced corrosion. Since very long service life goals are currently...
